Joe serves as our President and as a Board Member. He has over 30 years of experience in law and financial planning. He started his career as a tax and estate planning attorney. Joe has served on the full-time faculties of the University of Georgia, University of Louisiana, Georgia State University, and Texas Tech University and as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Virginia, Kaplan University, and Lubbock Christian University. Joe has also served as the Director of Advanced Marketing for GE Financial Assurance.

He received a law degree, an MBA from Texas Tech University, and a BBA-Finance from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Joe has several professional designations, including the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor, Certified Financial Planner, Registered Settlement Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, and Chartered Life Underwriter. Joe’s experience as an educator, financial planner, corporate officer, and lawyer helps him ensure sound fiduciary practices are followed in the trust company.

Joe has served his profession and community in the role of President and Board Member of the Society of Settlement Planners, the Registry of Settlement Planners, and the South Plains Trial Lawyers Association. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Dechomai Foundation and has served on the Boards of several other charities.

Joe resides with his wife in Wolfforth, Texas (just outside of Lubbock). He has four adult children and six grandchildren.
